Celebrating Europe Day 2024 in Macau

On 16 May, FMCC celebrated Europe Day 2024 in Macau, organized by EU Office, in the presence of Secretary for Transport and Public Works Raimundo Arrais do Rosário at beautiful Casa Garden.

Ambassador Thomas Gnocchi recalled the strong historic and cultural ties between the EU and Macau and highlighted opportunities for further cooperation, in particular on sustainability.

Europe Day, held on 9 May every year, celebrates peace and unity in Europe and the values on which our union is built: the promotion of peace, freedom, democracy, equality, rule of law and human rights. The date marks the anniversary of the historic "Schuman declaration" that set out an idea for a new form of political cooperation in Europe, which would lay the foundation for the EU’s ever closer union.
